Artist statement:
Picto-poems are hand-drawn poems. Broadly, but never concretely, picto-poems play loosely off pictograms and garner poetic revving through blends of machinery, tech objects, voids, ads, furniture, theater, and comics. In their current iteration, they are made with Sigma Micron Pigma .25 pens and Higgins India Ink Chisel Marker on Strathmore Marker paper.

Isaac George Lauritsen’s acts of writing, drawing, and living most often take place in his hometown of Chicago, IL. His recent poems can be found or are forthcoming in Cola Literary Review, Fine Print Press, Fourteen Hills, New Ohio Review, Rubbertop Review, and elsewhere. More picto-poems are in Bear Review, HAD, Red Noise Collective, and TILT, a subdivision of Tilted House.
