EIC July Call for Submissions

Surprise!

We're shaking things up here at Fugue. Our new staff is on board and excited to get started when the new general submission period roles around (Sept. 1). BUT now that we're caught up from the last submission period and waiting to hear back from our contest judges, I didn't want to miss out on the spectacular writing happening this summer.

SO... July 1-31 we will open a special submission period! Fugue gets so many submissions during the academic year, which is fantastic, but it also means that I unfortunately don't get to read all of the wonderful work sent our way. The idea behind this month is if you send it, I will get to read it! It's summertime, after all. I will read as quickly as possible, but also give me time to get through everything please! This is why the response time is approximately 1-2 months. For more on the guidelines, click here.

We’re also excited to introduce our new “hybrid” category in Submittable. How do we define hybrid? You tell us. It’s writing that crosses boundaries. It leaps over the lines drawn by genre. Often, we believe it breathes new life into a piece. It’s exploratory and imaginative. If you send it, we’ll consider it.

Have questions? Shoot us an email at fugue@uidaho.edu or tweet us @fuguejournal.

Help spread the word! Send your best!

It's going to be a great July.
